Staff Command and Control information system (SC2IS)
Subsystem of DOLPHIN dedicated to support command and control on the workstations within the LAN on the command posts of the task force.
SC2IS contains modules and applications enabling effective operation of the workstations within LAN of the command posts. It supports data preparation, processing, sharing and distribution within the command post or among them.
Basic characteristics
SC2IS is a primary tool for the work automation of ground force commanders and their staffs on the operational or tactical level (e.g. brigade, battalion, company task force). Its functionality supports planning and controlling of activities, common operational picture provision, creation and distribution of documents, signals and messages, the work with map and tactical computing and tags. It enables information sharing by all of the selected users at the command post, creation of communities of interest and information exchange in interoperable environment within a multinational operation (ADatP-3, NFFI, MIP).
Key modules
-
Operational –tactical applications
The module contains applications to support a commander and its staff decision making process during the mission planning and controlling. These applications enable to conduct automated calculations, e.g. route moving, power ratio, radio or optical visibility, terrain assessment, searching of geographical objects, operation journal. Operational-tactical applications are mainly combined arms oriented however, it is possible to configure the module according to the user specialization in order to support selected services, e.g. intelligence, NBC, signal, etc

-
Common operational picture
The module contains a set of applications, which contribute to the creation of common operational picture and enable the users to share relevant information at the command post or by different command posts. The basic application is the Operational-tactical drawing creating the conditions for work with the map underlay which enables to create or display different planned operational situations or present actual information regarding with the force tracking, signals and messages. The user can create, display and distribute information about the situation of the own or enemy forces (position, status, capabilities), terrain and weather characteristics, edit, send and receive signals and messages. The module contains tools for receiving, processing and broadcast of information to coalition partners by means of standards as ADatP-3, NFFI and MIP.

-
Formalized documents and messages
This module contains the applications supporting automated information processing of the formalized documents for command and control, staff work and message distribution. Templates of the selected documents and messages enable their effective processing and following information exchange among command posts of different levels. By the means of the applications there is possible to edit formalized documents and messages. Those documents and messages can be then exported into BMVIS for use.

-
Methodics and procedures
The module contains applications which functionality enables to work with different templates of the electronic methodics. The control tools provide coordination and time synchronization all of activities and information exchange among workplaces related to the particular operation
