Battle Management Vehicular Information System (BMVIS)
Subsystem of DOLPHIN dedicated to support command and control of the users who use a stand-alone workstation placed at the command post not equipped with LAN.
BMVIS contains applications enabling effective operation of a stand-alone workstation, data preparation for its exchange among command posts equipped with SC2IS and BMVIS and work control of the workstation.
Basic characteristics
BMVIS is a primary tool for the work automation of commanders (or other users) at the lower tactical level of the ground forces command and control, e.g. platoon, squad, mobile platform.
BMVIS functionality supports plan and control process, using common operational picture, making documents, signals, messages and their exchange. The important BMVIS part deals with map working, tactical computing and tags.
Key modules
-
Operational-tactical applications
The module contains applications for commander decision making process during the mission planning and controlling. These applications enable to conduct automated calculations, e.g. route moving, power ratio, radio or optical visibility, terrain assessment, searching of geographical objects. Operational-tactical applications are mainly combined arms oriented however, it is possible to configure the module according to the user specialization in order to support selected services, e.g. intelligence, NBC, signal, etc.

-
Common operational picture
The module contains a set of applications, which contribute to the creation of the common operational picture and enable the users to share relevant information horizontally and vertically. The basic application is the Operational-tactical drawing creating the conditions for work with the map underlay either in the planning mode (all application available) or in the control mode while conducting operation, when basic functionalities are supported (touch-screen control). They deal primarily with the force tracking, signal and message distribution. The user can create, display and distribute information about the situation of the own or enemy forces (position, status, capabilities), terrain and weather characteristics, send and receive signals.

-
Formalized documents and messages
This module contains the applications supporting automated information processing of the formalized documents for command and control and message distribution. Templates of the selected documents and messages enable their effective processing and following information exchange among command posts of different levels.
